Everyone can help do their part to protect animals. Doing your part doesn’t need to take a large amount time or money. There are multiple ways you can help for whatever level you feel comfortable. Listed below are five ways you can take action immediately.

1. Start a local doggy playgroup. This may not seem like it would help on a larger scale, but this can be effective. It can bring a group of pet owners together to let their dogs play, while conversing about local and global animal protection.

2. “Adopt” a pet. There are a number of organizations that allow you to adopt a pet. This pet doesn’t come and live with you, but gives you peace of mind knowing your helping them survive.

3. Read articles about animal protection. Knowledge can be power and can give the ability to raise awareness amongst others (example: other pet owners).

4. Donate to an organization. Many charities are in need of funding to help promote their causes. Anything from donating to your local animal shelter, to donating to the fight for animal rights laws, will help.

5. Volunteer. This can be a small or large time commitment. Volunteers are always needed.

Simply put, conservation is the steps one takes in order to create less of a burden on the earth and its valuable resources. The earth has been battered and abused for so many years now that in order for it to sustain life for years to come, certain steps must be taken now to alleviate and reduce some of the strain that has been placed on it. If you are interested in learning ways you can help rebuild the earth so to make it a livable place for the years to come, here are some earth conservation tips you can use in your day to day life.

1. Recycle. Recycling is one of the more common ways you can help the earth and it’s very easy to do. Almost anything can be recycled and by recycling, we can help eliminate the awful burden of waste. You probably already understand how easy it is to recycle cans and paper, but it’s also possible to recycle clothing and household items by shopping in thrift stores. Many thrift stores have a wide variety of goods that are in amazing condition and when you buy used goods not only will you help conserve the earth, but you will also conserve money.

2. Turn Off Water and Unplug Unused Electronics. Water is a precious resource and as a precious resource, it needs to be conserved. Simple ways to conserve water include shutting it off while you brush your teeth, or taking short showers. Try to fix any water leaks you have in your home and not only will you save water, but you will save money on your water bill. The same goes for electric. If you are not using an item, like the computer or tv, simply unplug it when you are done using it so to conserve electricity.

These are just 2 very simple ways you can help make conservation a part of your day to day life. Recycling, conserving water and unplugging electronics when not in use are extremely simple things you can be doing right now to help conserve valuable resources in order to help save the earth. We all live on this planet and if you want to be a responsible citizen of earth, take a close look at your life and make the necessary changes to live a more earth friendly existence.

The problems of the environment may seem far-reaching in the eyes of a child. They may even wonder if there is anything they can do to help the environment and make the globe a cleaner and safer place in which to live. As a family, you can teach your children the importance of conserving energy and how it will impact the future of the environment. Here are a few examples of how you can make a difference together.

Recycling takes very little effort, yet it has such an important impact on our planet. You can teach your children how to separate the items and how much less garbage you have to put in the trash bin.

Learn how to conserve electricity by turning off lights when not in use. Make the most out of natural lighting like the sun and daylight. Use power strips to plug in computers, printers and shut them off when not in use.

Composting is an excellent way to make use out of daily household garbage and will help your outdoor garden thrive.

Conserve water by taking shorter showers, turning off the water when brushing your teeth and washing clothes and dishes with a full load.

Windmills are the most exciting alternative energy source that is being developed today. With windmills energy can be converted from simple wind to enough power to supply electricity to entire cities.

Wind power conserves energy by replacing it with clean energy that is practically limitless. With proper placement a windmill can generate energy when ever the wind blows. In areas that are prone to wind, like coastlines and deserts, this can produce a constant supply of energy that can be used to power homes right away. However, with the development of special batteries, energy produced by windmills can be stored and transferred hundreds of miles. This means that a city that is not in a good location for wind power, like valleys, can still benefit from wind power.

Wind power is a very promising means of energy production. With the energy it saves, it can drastically reduce the use of fossil fuels in everyday lives. While wind power can not fuel cars and other motors, it still can take home power out of the energy equation. Already entire cities in the Western United States and Europe are powered by wind. With improvements in wind power, even more cities will be powered by the wind, and not fossil fuels.

Renewable energy can best be defined as the natural sources that are naturally replenish-able and always available. These five sources of renewable energy are sun, wind, biomass, hydrogen and hydro-power. All of these resources are endless thus there will never be a shortage in the amount of supply available, making goods such as energy always cheap and environmentally friendly. For renewable energy sources such as the sun and the wind, the efforts to provide energy comes more natural than others. While the sun provides solar power for several uses, the wind generates electric energy and turns the electric energy into regular electricity. Biomass resources on the other hand are a bit more complex. Biomass comes from living organisms and thus the idea is that energy can be generated from biomass resources such as plants, wood and waste. Hydrogen is one of the most abundantly found elements on the planet and thus there has been no discovery made that allows the separation from other elements such as the combined elements that are made to be known as water. Hydro-power is another source that is generated using the kinetic energy. This is done using falling water and wind to generate electrical power
